synopsis:
as a small boy, Britt was into superheros. but he got into trouble trying to be a good guy and was punished by his dad, the owner of an independent newspaper. as a result, he stopped caring and just became a party guy. then his dad died and left him the business. still mad with his dad, he recruited his dad's former coffee boy and all round handyman Kato, and they stole the head off his dad's statue in the park. while making their getaway, they came across a gang assaulting a guy and his girlfriend. so they punched out the gang (Kato did most of the action). nevertheless, they were reported in the news as just another bunch of thugs (since they vandalised Britt's dad's statue). so they decided to be good guys with a bad rep, and after coming up with a cool name, The Queen Bee, they never looked back.  another superhero was born.

my score: 8 out of 10.
awesome comedy, not so much a superhero movie. Many times during the movie, i just had to laugh out loud. and the rest of the audience did too. Seth is the perfect cast for a bumbling superhero. Kato mangled his English - that was to be expected. Jay Chou is famous for mumbling in any language.


why you should watch it:
you should, but not in 3D. watch it in 2D. it's more awesome that way.

interesting teenage comedy - guy refuses to graduated from college, by stopping short of the necessary credits, and spends the rest of his time partying with his rich dad's money. in his 7th year, his dad finally stopped making payment so he has to finance his tuition and cost of living by himself. And by trial and error, together with his band of mates, he ends up becoming a party liaison and making more than enough to get thru college. Gwen is the cute reporter given the task of interviewing the popular Van for the school paper and they somehow get together in the end.

my score: 7 out of 10.
it's a babes and boobs movie, but it had a pretty good storyline. and the concepts behind why Van didnt graduate, and the stuff he went thru to earn his own money, were brilliant.

• a comedy with an interesting storyline that is full of laughs

my score: 5 out of 10.
the first movie (Van Wilder) was a hit, so they decided to continue with the formula. however, as a formula, it wasn't going well, so they added some nudity and a change of environment, just to spice things up. didnt work. movie was a flop. hence there is no van wilder 3 movie.

15-Feb correction: there was a 3rd movie. a prequel - Van Wilder: Freshman Year (2009). so there is a good chance someone else will resurrect the series and come up with a 4th sometime into the near future.

why you should watch it:
you shouldnt. any score below 6 just isnt worth your time and money.

• here is where the mistaken assumption that Mi Nam loves Shin Woo first started. cos she sang with emotion on her love song, which implies it has something to do with Shin Woo, since she came back with him from her hometown. further confirmed by Tae Kyung when he sees Shin Woo hugging Mi Nam, who then runs off when she sees Tae Kyung approach.
• invisible woman is not invisible - Jeremy is there when the other 2 arent.
• awesome - aunt making money by stealing idol stuff and selling to the fans. and somehow, from that, it leads to the fans sharing about the idol's legendary stories, and ends with the shocking fact that today is the real birth date of Tae Kyung! confirmed by his dad calling him up, which makes him moody.
• aunt raids idol's postal packages, and this time round, opened Tae Kyung's birthday present from his dad. Mi Nam found the birthday note and is puzzled.
• Tae Kyung meets his mom, thinking she remember her son's birthday and invited him for a private dinner. turned out she didnt remember but just organised a reporter dinner for herself.
• Mi Nam decides to give the autograph of Mo Hwa Ran to her fan, Tae Kyung, as a birthday present.
• Mi Nam checks his birthday with Jeremy, and finds out Tae Kyung isnt coming home but working in at the office.
• Mi Nam goes to find him, and accidentally overhears his convo with his mom and discover their relationship.

a little about Jeremy r/s with Mi Nam
he celebrates MN's first recording party

• bike ride announcing to random ppl on the streets
• since she is crying, he makes it legit for her to cry - 10 levels of spicy food.
• after letting it all out, cool off with icecream
• having fun in arcade - Jeremy shows of his drumming skills!
• then a fun bike ride thru the streets at night
• ending with a 1-hr magic bus ride - for Mi Nam to get over her feelings, and for Jeremy to let him love Mi Nam for a short while.

Jeremy never spoke of his love for Mi Nam, so he has the least luck among the 3 guys. cos he thought it was a gay thing for the longest time, so he lost out.

further development of the piggy-rabbit connection:

• Manager Ma teaches her how to control her feelings, by doing a piggy nose, which is a deception that can only work on someone as innocent as Mi Nam.
• she first uses it that very night when she shares room with Tae Kyung.
• Tae Kyung is shocked when she did piggy nose before him, and gives her nickname of dwaeji-tokki (pig-rabbit) - as she is dangerous like a rabbit and also likes to poke fun at him for the pig incident at her hometown

Mi Nam-Shin Woo: story of a clumsy girl

• Mi Nam enters women's toilet, causing all the girls to run out screaming
• Mi Nam fully dressed and not able to look at the topless guys working out during practice session
• Shin Woo saving Mi Nam from sauna session with the company president - he asks Mi Nam out to lunch.
• Shin Woo trades with Mi Nam for the heavier load
• Shin Woo lends her a shoulder to sleep on and covered her with a towel

the MV shoot is just a whole ton of fun!
Tae Kyung has to find out the name of Mi Nam's best friend
Tae Kyung has to save Mi Nam from a peeing contest
Mi Nam has the better lunch box than Tae Kyung (acting as a poor student)
Tae Kyung has visions of Mi Nam being a pharmacist's wife, after the best friend shared with him that he wants to marry her after his army stint and open a pharmacy.
raking leaves is awesome scene, esp when it ended with her evil dwaeji-tokki nose action.

MN best friend finally discovered the truth when he compared shoe size, but he didnt expose her to the reporter cos he likes her.

HY: you came in your car right? drive me home
TK: i came in the team van
HY: is that so? then you can drive my car.

HY: carry my handbag
TK smiles and walks off

HY: i want to eat spaghetti
TK drives her there, parks the car, then throws the keys to her and walks off.

3. cleaner is cake fanatic, and wants to learn to bake from baker
4. owner's bodyguard is forced to be his waiter in the shop, although he is clumsy and shy.

my score: 7 out of 10.
how i derived that score. because this was a more accurate representation of Antique the manga. i had watched Antique the dorama, but the gay bits were toned down for mass audience. baker is just 'shy' with girls. duh. here, the representation is more true to the case. even if most of it were made into jokes. after all, this is supposed to be a rom-com of sorts.

why you should watch it:

• Owner actor is the cutie prince in Princess Hours/Goong
• baker actor is cutie baker of waffles in Coffee Prince
• good storyline
• fantastic cakes
• if you have read/watched any Antique-related materials before.

how i derived that score. some parts of it are funny, some parts of the crimes are interesting. but since you are basically watching the same formula over and over again for 10 episodes, it gets boring. so the title is kinda punny - unu - BORE.

• how to film fake kisses like real - it's all about camera angles. i finally discovered the sad truth about kissing on film.

the best lines are those between Tae Kyung and He Yi when they are sparring
- she asks him to send him home after they agreed on the fake r/s deal; he should pretend to be a gentleman.
- he disagrees; she should pretend to be a considerate gf and let him rest after a tiring day

pigs and rabbits first brought up in this episode, but the linkage will be further developed in later episodes

• Tae Kyung got chased by a pig into the mountains
• on the way back with Mi Nam, he revealed his fear of rabbits which, while cute, BITE!

  but its quite sad. cos the only time she can use it is when she returns to being a girl and grow her hair long again, which means a time when she has already left the band.
